Senior Technical Engineer – Digital Power (Senior Engineer I, Digital Systems Technical Execution)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Engineer to join our growing Digital Power Team in Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 5+ years’ experience in Electrical Controls who thrives in a collaborative environment and is motivated by delivering high‑quality technical solutions. A full EU/Irish driving licence is essential.
About the Role
As a Senior Technical Engineer, you will lead the technical delivery of Power/Energy Monitoring and Control System projects across the Data Centre, Utilities, Grid & Renewables, and Life Sciences sectors. You will guide technical design, integration, testing, and commissioning activities while supporting both junior engineers and project stakeholders.
You will be a key technical point of contact—ensuring solutions meet project scope, budget, and schedule, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery

Lead technical design and execution for complex system architectures across design, integration, testing, FAT, installation, and commissioning stages.

Ensure full alignment with project scope, specifications, and customer expectations.

Support the development of technical documentation including Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
Project Execution
-
Work closely with Project Managers and Operations to ensure successful project delivery.

Lead site commissioning activities acting as key customer point of contact on site

Identify project risks and opportunities, and contribute to effective mitigation strategies.

Participate in post‑project reviews and lessons‑learned activities.
Collaboration & Customer Engagement

Act as a primary technical interface with customers and third parties.

Coach and support Project Technical Engineers within your area of expertise.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and delivery quality.
(External) English Qualifications:
About You
-
Degree (Level 7 or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Controls, or a related discipline.

5+ years’ experience in Electrical Controls, Electrical Monitoring, or Building Management Systems.
-
Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, or EPMS design, programming, or installation (advantage).

Ability to read and interpret MV/LV Electrical Distribution Single Line Diagrams.

Experience with project delivery and an understanding of project engineering principles.

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Excellent communication skills—written and verbal.

Strong teamwork mindset with the ability to work independently when required.

Customer-focused with an understanding of Schneider Electric product offerings (advantage).

Valid EU/Irish Driver’s Licence required.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the Ireland. Our pay ranges are determined by the local market.
