The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving the following:
- Night-time security and monitoring of the building and its environment.
- Supervision of young people
- To provide responsive, sensitive, and proportionate support to the young person in the event of incident or crisis.
- To alert a member of the social care team to any emergency or behaviour management concerns
- Accessing the On-call manager during out of hour’s times when necessary
- To act flexibly, within reasonable grounds, to ensure necessary cover.
- To work alongside out-of-hours support and/or emergency services.
- To ensure that all the household tasks and paperwork allocated through the night shift are maintained up to date and completed to the highest standard.
- In conjunction with the young people and the team, ensure that the house is kept to a good standard of tidiness, cleanliness and hygiene including communal areas and bathrooms.
- Supporting the young people with laundry and cleaning tasks where appropriate.
- Ensuring the young person is supported
- Candidates must have a minimum of QQI Level 6 in Social Care or a similar field of study.
- At least one year’s experience in a community or residential setting
- Experience in supporting vulnerable people with a trauma-informed approach
- Candidates must also have a deep commitment to children’s rights and child protection and enjoy working in a dynamic, challenging environment
- Knowledge and experience of implementing National Standards for Children's Residential Centres
