A-techSYN is seeking a Project Engineer to drive the execution, timeline tracking, and resource optimization of our technical development pipelines. Operating in a fast-paced environment, our team balances rapid prototyping, field testing, and swift project pivots to match commercial sales demands.
Reporting to the Engineering Department Head, you will act as the primary operational link between the engineering execution team and upper management. You will take ownership of resource scheduling, blocker removal, procurement tracking, and technical governance. This role is built for a highly organized coordinator who thrives in a hardware-and-software integration environment and knows how to keep engineers focused on building, testing, and iterating without getting bogged down by supply chain or administrative bottlenecks.
You will work directly on the shop floor and in the lab, collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineers, while maintaining tight ties with our procurement and commercial departments.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Resource Allocation
- Own the development, maintenance, and tracking of engineering project plans, milestones, and delivery schedules across multiple concurrent tracks.
- Coordinate day-to-day engineering resource allocation through continuous discussion with department managers to ensure engineering hours match shifting sales priorities.
- Track the team's custom Agile Kanban board and sprint schedules, ensuring task loads are balanced and transparent.
Engineering Blocker Removal & Procurement Liaison
- Actively identify and eliminate technical and operational bottlenecks stalling the engineering team (e.g., resolving lab space constraints, tooling availability, or test bench scheduling conflicts).
- Serve as the direct liaison to the procurement team; track long-lead engineering items, source specialized integration components (e.g., sensors, connectors, custom shielding), and minimize supply-chain downtime.
- Follow up on pending purchase orders and vendor deliveries to guarantee hardware arrives before bench setups are scheduled.
Quality Assurance & Engineering Governance
- Prepare for, coordinate, and lead collaborative engineering focus groups and brainstorming workshops centered on Requirements management, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), RCA (Root Cause Analysis) etc.
- Facilitate project transitions from design into production by coordinating administrative milestones, tracking documentation completion, and ensuring all required validation sign-offs are secured from the responsible engineering leads.
- Own the engineering gate-review process, compiling test data and technical logs to secure formal flight-readiness and project sign-offs from internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You are a highly proactive, structured communicator who loves solving puzzles, optimizing schedules, and organizing technical workflows. You possess the confidence to challenge engineering assumptions, aggressively follow up on late deliverables, and systematically drive tasks to a definitive "Done."
Essential
- 2–5 years' experience in project management, technical delivery, engineering operations, or a cross-functional program coordination role.
- Thorough familiarity with Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and their core philosophies of rapid, iterative delivery.
- Hands-on proficiency with Agile-associated project management tools and integrated tracking platforms (e.g., ERPNext, Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps).
- Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong priority management: Comfort shifting focus rapidly between multiple active projects based on business demands.
- Basic literacy in hardware/software environments (understanding the distinction between physical integration paths, procurement requirements, and firmware deployment).
Desirable
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable, but equivalent practical field experience will be strongly considered.
- Direct experience working in engineering fabrication, UAV development, technology integration, aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing sectors.
- Familiarity with engineering quality processes such as FMEA, DFMEA, or structured root-cause analysis loops.
What Success Looks Like
- Zero Bench Downtime: Engineers never sit idle waiting for a component, a purchase order sign-off, or a clear task directive.
- Flawless Shelf Hygiene: When sales mandates a project pivot, the paused system's hardware state and outstanding tasks are documented so seamlessly that any engineer can revive it instantly.
- Predictable Delivery Loops: Project milestones, checklist executions, and gate reviews are logged accurately, eliminating human bias during scheduling audits.
- Structured Risk Mitigation: DFMEA and RCA workshops are run routinely and documented constructively, translating bench failures into improved technical design standards.
