Alliance Française Dublin
Founded in 1960 and located in the heart of Dublin, Alliance Française Dublin is a registered charity governed by a board of directors and sub-committees. Its tagline, “The destination for a truly French experience”, reflects its mission to promote French language and culture in Ireland.
Today, Alliance Française Dublin is ranked second in Europe for student numbers and stands out as one of the most dynamic centres in the network for its rich cultural programme. It serves as a language school, examination centre, teacher-training hub, cultural institution, and library, as well as a vibrant community of francophones and francophiles.
In May 2025, we proudly opened our own café: Madeleine. Named after the iconic French sponge cake so dear to Marcel Proust, Madeleine is fully managed by Alliance Française and sources its products exclusively from trusted partner companies. We are committed to offering an authentic French café experience, serving carefully selected products sourced exclusively from trusted partner providers.
Our menu features artisanal coffee, madeleines, croissants, chocolatines, and an expanding range of savoury options including soups, croque-monsieurs, vegetarian toastés, spreads, and more to come. Madeleine Café is open to all, with standard pricing for the public and preferential rates for AF Friends.
