PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Group HR Generalist on a 12-Month Fixed-Term basis reporting to the People Operations Manager. JOB SUMMARY:
Support the Group People Operations Manager & Head of HR in the day to day running of the global HR function. Support the Head of HR and Group People Operations Manager in the implementation of the HR strategy under the guidance of the 5-Year Business Plan
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be conversant in all HR policies and provide guidance and support to managers and employees on internal policies or local labour legislation framework.
- Be fully conversant in disciplinary / grievance handling procedures.
- Respect the need for confidentiality at all times with all sensitive discussions, documents or proposals.
- Proactively recommend HR policy introduction or updates in compliance with new legislation or industry best practice
- Revise and create global employee handbooks to reflect any updates or revisions of new legislation or company policies.
- Proactively recommend/introduce new initiatives for the betterment of the employee experience at Portwest
- Manage relevant HR KPI's and their tracking and reporting at the agreed frequency.
- Assist with benefit reviews & enrolment across global locations.
- Maintain Bamboo (Internal HR System) records in line with GDPR & provide Tier 1 Support to bamboo users on queries and systems issues.
- Support global relocations in terms of visa applications, local labour law compliance & benefit enrolment etc.
- Support other initiatives and programs including employee engagement, sustainability, internal comms etc.
- Regularly audit and review key areas with Line Managers, e.g., holiday balances, completion of performance reviews.
- Execute HR and cross-functional projects as set out by the Portwest Group
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding process globally to ensure a smooth employee experience, maintaining legal compliance in all areas of HR, H&S and local labour laws.
- Proactively engage in training that contributes to your professional and personal development.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research both internally and externally leveraging market research, employee satisfaction surveys and data led reporting to help place Portwest as an employer of choice.
- Stay abreast of changes to employment legislation affecting Portwest in regions of operations e.g., Europe, MENA, USA, ANZ & ROW.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Portwest by upholding the values, policies, messaging and intentions set by the company for communication to employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3rd level degree in HR or other relevant qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a global HR environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Competent in Data Analytic / Efficiency tools e.g. Power BI, Power Automate etc. a distinct advantage.
- Proven ability to manage Employee Relations & Performance Management issues a distinct advantage
