The Role:
Primary goal is to manage the parts inventory which in turn will assist in reducing machinery downtime. Work closely with heavy truck mechanics, fitter’s, managers and suppliers to ensure the correct parts are available.
The store person will manage the sourcing of parts receiving and issuing of parts and consumables using a Computerised Maintenance Management System for a wide range of vehicles, machinery and plant including Renault, Volvo, Daf, Komatsu, Caterpillar.
Key Responsibilities:
· Receive, catalogue, and control stock levels of parts for heavy equipment like crushers, conveyors, trucks, and fixed plant using our CMMS software Maintenance Pro.
· Identify the correct replacement parts from manuals and source from original equipment manufacturers with the issuing of purchase orders. Track orders, manage quotes/pro-formas and invoices.
· Receive incoming deliveries, verify delivery notes, inspect items for damage, organise parts in the storeroom according to location for clear and easy distribution.
· Hand out replacement parts and consumables to the maintenance and operations teams as needed and ensure parts are charged out to the work orders on the CMMS.
Requirements & Skills:
· At least 1-2 years of experience in parts warehousing, ideally within heavy industry, quarrying, agriculture, construction or motor industry.
· Familiarity with heavy duty plant equipment parts, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical components.
· Proficiency with inventory management systems, (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems), literacy and Microsoft office.
· Strong organisational skills to track different items and part numbers.
· Ability to clearly communicate with mechanics, external suppliers, and management.
