Chef / Cook (Full-Time)

The Barrel House is a popular and growing beer and food destination in Ballymote, County Sligo. As we expand our kitchen offering beyond pizza’s, we are looking for an experienced Chef/Cook to take ownership of our kitchen and help drive quality, consistency, and creativity across our evolving menu.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef with experience in burgers, taco’s, and classic pub-style food who can confidently manage the kitchen and contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and manage the kitchen
- Prepare and cook burgers, taco’s, and pub-style dishes to a consistently high standard
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and HACCP standards
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and waste management
- Support menu development and new food offerings
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen
- Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
Requirements
- Minimum 1 years' experience in a professional kitchen
- Previous experience working as a chef or cook in a commercial kitchen
- Strong grill experience, including burgers, taco’s, and pub food
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy kitchen
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Good understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations
- Experience with stock control and kitchen systems
- Positive attitude and strong team ethic
