I loved working here when I first started but once the management team changed to new people who didn't have too much history or association with the site the atmosphere became fairly toxic. The people that were placed in crucial positions didn't have the experience in the industry to be there, which is fine if they are willing to listen, learn and follow through with advice they have been given. Sadly in this case they weren't. For a multibillion dollar company there was some serious penny scraping going on too. People being put in positions and expected to do the work that 3 people used to do without any change to the process to make it easier for the new person is a bit daft. I really do hope it changes with new management that actually go by the Credo because towards the end it just felt like everyone was depressed and anxious. And that was without the pressure that Covid brought on.
I am currently working at Janssen Sciences Ireland UC, Barnahealy, Co.Cork as an Associate Scientist. My role involves the review and analysis of release and stability samples. The analysis that I currently carry out are capillary IEF and capillary SDS. This is a fast paced working environment with the continuous introduction of new products.
I have also completed a project management techniques course in Cork Institute of Technology in 2016 and have been afforded the opportunity to put this to use in Janssen. It has led to me becoming a project manager for the PDMS department.
Janssen is a great place to work. It offers good opportunities for growth and development. On site training is continuously provided to help improve individuals. It is a challenging environment due to availability of training and development present.

My job entailed processing invoices and credit notes. I would also organise invoices and credit notes into their separate companies and make sure all supplies bought were paid off.
I learned that diligence and concentration is key when doing this job.
My manager was very supportive and provided the encouragement I needed to do the job as best I could.
My co-workers were also very supportive and welcoming. They provided me with advice and made my time at Johnson and Johnson Depuy very enjoyable.
The hardest part of the job was the responsibility although it taught me a lot about the business and my abilities.
The most enjoyable part of my job was the motivated staff surrounding me and encouraging me to do my best at all times.
The staff in the consumer goods division are very welcoming of new staff while also being very helpful. There was a nice relaxed environment in the offices. Good exposure to FMCG industry and brands such as aveeno neutrogena listerine etc. Some tasks monotonous (data entry etc) but nothing too taxing. Free parking on site a bonus. 1 hour lunch with 15 minutes break and WFH options too. Good place to work overall. Salary for interns is good compared to competitors however still quite low.
ProsFree lunches often, Free on site parking, New office spaces, Friendly staff / teams, Great discount on products, Management are not egotistical
ConsMonotonous work that lacks creativity from a marketing point of view, Low pay for interns
-I was in charge of invoicing several customers, following the company procedures and some other office tasks as updating database and enter data in the System
-I learned how to use the SAP
-Management is very easygoing and extrict at the same time, understanding the day a day troubles.
-The co-workers were very nice in all fields , helping each other and always in the mood
-The hardest part of the job was that was far away from the place i live.
- The thing i like the most is the co-workers and learning and developing my profesional career everyday.
Worked here for 4 months over the summer as a student on the end of the production line as a production technician. 12 hour shifts running the machines that packed the lenses. Work wasn't too challenging but repetitive. Co-workers were helpful and nice, same with management. They didn't hassle you unnecessarily. Can't really comment on the wages as I was a student and thought it was great at the time.
ProsHelpful co-workers, Work wasn't too hard, No unnecessary hassle or red tape as I have encountered in similar companies
Overall Vistakon is a place where long hard hours equate to great technical experience gained but in a harsh bonus driven culture.
I found the majority of process technicians were very unhappy overall with some great people and some below par management. The creed that J&J operate by might be true in some sections/departments but does not exist on production line.
12 hour shifts, month of days followed by month of nights, 24/7
ProsPermanent contract & healthcare for whole family. Doctor on site.
Constough target/bonus driven culture, long hours, poor life balance
- Sales order and procurement management.
- Dealt and managed customer’s queries and/or complaints on daily basis by phone and email and monitored key performance indicators according to the service level agreements.
- Assess clients’ needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine their goals
- Managing, processing and recording consignment inventory movements and adjustments.
- Delivered training to new and current agents and tracked, assisted and collaborated functionality of different projects.
JnJ R&D project (Ethicon Biosurgery Ireland)
The project was a great success even the product lost its competitiveness on the market.
The team was highly educated and very well selected for the project.
As part of the management team, we were focusing on our Credo to create a Job Work/Life Balance and keep the project schedule.
We have raised 10k Euro for Paralympics Ireland I believe this tells everything about the work place environment and the team effort.
The company is very good when it comes to work life balance and they pride themselves on that. They also often have nice perks like a gym in their buildings.
But any criticism in favor of improving operations and maintaining an innovative edge is unwelcome. They don't attract top talent with the ability to push forward and make progress because they are a company designed to keep their market share-- they are not in the business of making any risky moves. And so, they hire cookiecutter employees with cookiecutter mindsets.
For a company that is in the business of health, they contract out their cafeteria services to companies that don't provide very healthy options. All the fat executives drink soda, but when you ask them why they work for the company, they tell you because they value helping people.
Because it is such an incestuous company, no one takes any risks or bothers to act on integrity for fear of upsetting people who they will no doubt see at some point further on in their career. Contractors are expendable, and exist in an almost separate class, making some valuable team members feel undervalued when they are laid off at a moment's notice for budgetary excuses.
Technological infrastructure is always ten steps behind the competition because it is such a big company with so many checks and balances. Alignment is lacking when areas of the company have upgraded systems and others are behind due to budgetary constraints or issues with the timing of implemen

External Manufacturing Operations Department (McNeil)
Johnson and Johnson (McNeil Consumer Healthcare) was an incredibly educational working experience. As a co-op I was assigned responsibilities that tested my knowledge of the supply chain field and pushed to challenge myself daily . When I had become comfortable with my responsibilities and was observed managing my time efficiently, I was allowed to increase my exposure across multiple business departments to develop cross-functional skills and pursue interests.
The leadership team at Johnson & Johnson, from my direct manager to the director level managers, were incredibly supportive and inspiring. There was no uncomfortability associated with a hierarchal system and I was encouraged to approach the leadership team with questions. I developed an immediate level of respect toward them and how they managed our team and carried out their mission. I appreciate both the level of professionalism and friendless they extended toward me throughout my period of employment.
My co-workers were friendly and patient and I learned a great deal from all of them. By offering to support them in any projects they were currently undertaking, I was able to develop relationships with them and gain a better understanding of other roles in the department. The bonds between co-workers were tight and our departments Credo Team planned volunteer and social events that made it an exciting place to work.
I came away from Johnson & Johnson eager to challenge myself in a full time employment

As a Regulatory Affair Assistant of the Caribbean I was in charge of the recollection of all legal documents to form the DOSSIER. I was in charge of working hand by hand with the Minister of Health of the Caribbean to approve all products and submit the new ones, which compound the Johnson & Johnson Hemisférica company.
Work with CAPA (Corrective Action Preventive Action), GMP (Good Manufacture Procedures), I had to verify the Art of the products for approve, products like, AVEENO®, LUBRIDERM®, Benadryl®, Neutrogena®, and all baby Johnson & Johnson Products. Horrible Management
The Finance team at Janssen is know for working some crazy hours. Yes, you read it right. Most of the analysts are working more than 70 hours a week. Things just gets worse during month/quarter end closes. Management will never acknowledge your efforts by putting overtime and instead throw more work at your desk.
Management does not have industry experience and technical accounting knowledge to guide team in right direction. As a result managers do not agree with each other where there is impact across other accounting teams.
Managers will put blame on you when your reach out to them for guidance and ask you to work independently.
It is very difficult to even ask for sick time off, managers seem very uncomfortable if your request to take day off to recover. The reason is that managers do not want to be held responsible for any inquiries from other finance teams in your absence. This again ties to them not having technical accounting knowledge in application to manufacturing setting.
Except minimum to zero transitional training when you start new with team, it helps a bit if you are applying internally and have a J&J experience of over 3 years.
ERP systems are not set up correctly and often do not provide the level of detail you may require to analyse any transaction.
I would recommend anyone who is currently employed to stay clear of this firm, those who are currently unemployed can take their chance as they have noting more to lose. But be prepared to get
ProsNone
Cons12hr work day, dirty office spaces, no room for sick time off, extremely poor work life balance, negative competition amongst managers, no resources for training, cafe food is unappetizing, poorly maintained drinking water units, empty talks of worklife balance and J&J Credo - They are not hold true.
Each day coming into work is a different experience. Since the job consists of customer service interaction as well and desk work, there is always something new that comes up. Most of my day is spent on the computer, either creating and editing marketing/programs, answering customer/member emails, reviewing data from previous programs, or entering data. The remainder of the day is spent with the members themselves. I would sometimes teach group exercise classes, person exercise prescriptions, and just build a stronger rapport with the individuals who come in and out of the facility each day. I manage a group of personal trainers so I also deal with payroll, interaction between personal trainer and clientele and promotion and implementation of the personal training program.
I thoroughly enjoy working with my team. Ideas are always bounced off one another and everyone's opinions are valued. Management is very easy to deal with. I am open to new ideas and critiques so conversations that might be hard in other places, are not in mine because of the open relationship I have with my managers.
The hardest part of the job is to focus on desk work. Since I am physically stationed in a fitness center, people come in and out all day. I want to have long conversations with every individual giving them guidance in their wellness goals, but at times, my workload does not allow that to happen.
The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that I have effected people in a

I started out my career in J&J as an administrative assistant in Sales Training and loved every minute of working with Sales Reps, District Manager, and Regional Managers. I became an SME for their career development program as I was responsible for tracking all requirements and insuring with my management that they had completed all that was necessary to move to the next level within the sales organization. I participated in their training classes and also presented their career development requirements to them in their Basic Training.
Moved on to an Export Coordinator role the last 6 years of my career at J&J. In this role I supported a business which J&J had contracted with Daewoong in Korea. I was responsible for the monthly shipments of raw materials from various vendors for Mylanta Liquid and Mylanta tablets. Also had affiliates that required special manufacturing of liquids and tablets so I worked very closely with our manufacturing plants to put a plan in place to accomodate their needs.
There was a lot of tracking and partnership with Finance to assure that the business remained profitable. Also worked with a freight forwarder in Philadelphia to initate invoicing and shipping of the materials from a special warehouse that was used only for our business.
The enjoyable part of my job was the customer service aspect and getting shipments and formulas matched to this business. A lot of interaction with different departments within J&J, ie, QA, Manufacturing, Gr

A typical day in the field as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Johnson & Johnson
A typical day in the field working for Johnson & Johnson began with following a pre-planned schedule of which physicians I would call on and what area I would be working with.
I planned my schedule according to the appointments that I had already set, as well as, what time you were allowed "drop in" according to the doctor's scheduled visiting time for representatives. I would review my physician's profile and also look at his prescribing habits/data which were provided by Johnson and Johnson on a regular basis.
At the end of the day, I would return home and restock my car with product literature and samples and set up my plan of action for the next day.
I learned how to effectively manage my time and how to be very organized so that I could be as productive as possible when in the field. I also learned about many different fields of medicine, such as,
Sales experience in the following medical fields:
Chronic non-malignant pain, dermatology, wound care, gastroenterology, psychiatry, geriatrics, Alzheimer's disease and dementia. In addition, I learned how to train other sale representative and how to r
