I don’t think I could have enough cons to describe this job. The only pros are the friends I made while working in the shop. The owners (barrons) are not nice people. That is putting it kindly. You could do give your whole life to there store and it will never be enough. No bonuses, not even at Christmas would you get a bottle of wine. They treat their staff like they are dirt on shoes. They arrive unexpectedly and expect staff members to come in on days off whenever suits them. Pay is shocking. Especially since they took commission off any new staff members. So much pressure put on management and the stress is passed onto employees. Please if you value yourself and mental health steer clear of this company. I won’t even support them by buying from them since working there

What is the best part of working at the company?
Discount for workers. Not really best part.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Money is very small.  Staff room and facilities is shameful.  If you have to stay longer in the shop because of customers it's not payable.  Owners is very,  very,  very hungry for money. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Shop looks nice. Clothes start look cheap and it's not very good quality lately.  Work colleagues is lovely and work hard but don't get anything back.  Owner even don't know your name and you work there for a years. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Do delivery,  no aloud to chatting with colleagues only with customers.  Customers is always right doesn't matter how rude they are to you.  Standing 8 hours.

Worked in Midleton . Would say if you want peace of mind as to what manager; s humour is like minute to minute . Desperate atmosphere . Very poor management and to be honest head wrecking . A very bi polar state to work in changing to poor management . Constantly observed manger arguing with other staff on floor . Very poor communication and most stressful, due to management in my 25 years of retail at senior supervisor and many different shops , never came across how mentally stress management made work , you were either bathed in compliments or worse ever in day , depending hours 😷. I would say stay away if you want mentally to be ok at all for minimum pay . Same I saw in  cork store 
Being totally honest .

This was a place of work experience for me, part time. 
A typical day at work would be  sweeping floors, organizing clothes into their designer areas and in their appropriate sizes and most importantly dealing with customers.
I learned to socialize with customers using a friendly face and a nice tone of voice and to always respect a customers wishes and try my hardest to ensure they have a good experience dealing with the employees and help them out with any queries. Knowing the customer went away happy at the end of the day was the most enjoyable part of the job.

I have enjoyed working with Pamela Scott for the past eight years, however, I feel as though I am ready to move on and develop my skills somewhere else now. Working with such an exceptional team has been amazing and I will definitely miss them when I leave.
The hardest part of the job is dealing with difficult customers, which every establishment gets, but from so many years experience I am able to deal with such customers in a clam and collected manner, ensuring they never leave the store angry.

Everyday was dufferent and enjoyed having a banter with the customers and staff
I also learned that with staff and customers that communicatation is very important and that it is important that all parties understand what is been said.
The hardest part of the job was to have to correct and repremand staff if needed 
The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting the different caracters you would meet 

Management is horrible and expect you to take the brunt of the work, some of the staff were lovely but none of them ever stayed for long due to how horrible management treats it's employees. Online orders were to be done manually in the store which was a bit of a pain, And management would get upset if you missed a day due to being sick. I hated my experience working here and would never wish that displeasure to my worst enemy.

Toxic culture. Hardest part of the job is the managers I come first attitude. Trained as assistant manager, manager to cover maternity cover and left once manager came back, I am the boss attitude. Staff had a desire to attack anyone who came in. No team effort. Worked an extra 4 weeks to cover managers time off, hrs reduced and no thanks. 

No extra pay for working sundays or bank holidays, also not guaranteed hours, every week is different amount of hours so never guaranteed a full weeks wages and pay is minimum and only paid till 6 o clock evening though you don’t finish at that time as you still have to cash up after the shop closed at 6 so usually finish around 6.15

I had only done one week work experience here so I did not to experience all the areas of being a retail assistant. The managers and co-workers were very friendly and explained everything cleary to me so I understood.
