Desperation and lack of alternative opportunities are good reasons to work here. Avoid if possible, other companies are much better.

Paranoid, controlling, egotistical, insecure, self entitled management who cannot be engaged with. It is career damaging for an employee to even politely disagree with management or inadvertently give an opinion which might conflict with management. This will be taken as a challenge or a threat and you will be punished and labelled a troublemaker. I have heard that gilead is a science lead organisation but haven't seen evidence of this in QC, as they are about 10 to 15 years behind other companies in terms of efficiency. It's easier to blame the end user than imporive actual processes. 

If you are very politically enclined and aggressive this could be a good fit for you. Make sure you get into a power click and you'll have a good chance at success. If your a nice person don't leave a job to join gilead. You'll regret it.

Overall it's a nice place to work but very hard and competitive for contractors, very rare that there is a permanent position that opens and competition for those is tough.
Culture is decent and most teams are good to work with. Some managers are lacking the ability to lead and are unreliable. Lots of internal change and reassembling of teams can lead to chaotic environments 

Month end was a fiasco of unorganised chaos....every month. Expected to work every public holiday & a definite 2 tier system in operation here, a real "them & us" culture. They talk the talk but do not walk the walk. Very boring & repetitive work with not much scope for onward progression.

Agency is taking care of staff, monthly payments - overtime overt two months it’s just shocking, no chance for any future staff is constantly changing  - Tablet inspector nr 23

Worked under incompetent manager who were toxic in every way you could expect 
No support in any kind, horrible rules to even take leaves

As contractor, ready to get used in heavy work pressure n throw when there is less work.



Have to stand in for T/L when required , participate in cross-functional teams, act as a point of escalation for junior staff. Direct and organise work for technicians on a line.

Great company with excellent ideas...very busy environment everyone is trying to work very hard. day to day job is extremely busy. Management is currently taking few actions to make employees life easier

Great environment to work in. Canteen is quite expensive even with being subsided. 
Great team working atmosphere. Very approachable managers and great sense of work ethic

Fast paced environment with lots of opportunities to learn but many internal challenges due to being understaffed and unorganised. Work life balance can be difficult

QC commercial, stressful testing, upper management tend to panic frequently. Workload can vary in a bad way. Testing can get very repetitive. Very little progression
